The movie was filmed by Frank Powell at Lake Ronkonkoma New York and starred veteran Edward Jose. The melodrama’s fame is the only one, although the young Theodosia, claimed to be alive, is given a brief appearance by de Coupet. Theodosia changed her name to Theda Bara at the time and became a major star as the man-eating “vampire”.
Ironically, Maternally Virginia Pearson, the female lead of The Stan, originated Kipling’s infamous heroine. Barra spent the rest of his life refusing to be extra but he actually appeared in the crowd scene in The Stan.
